10 Simple Things We Can Do To Bring Us Joy

I know I’m not the only one that’s begun to feel a sense of ‘auto pilot’ being activated every morning when I wake up. My alarm goes off, I do three minutes of stretching, feed my dog, let her outside to use the bathroom, brush my teeth, wash my face, take my medicine, start making breakfast, and then head to the gym before hunkering down for the work day. It’s a similar song and dance to what many of us have gotten used to after years of the same cadence. We get stuck in a rhythm of routine, while oftentimes, forgetting or replacing the self care parts of our regimen. After a while, the self care activities almost begin to feel less like care and more like work. However, the missed opportunity here is recognizing that the reason ‘autopilot’ turns on and we feel ourselves just ‘going through the motions, is because we’ve negated most (if not all) of the things that keep us grounded and at level with our purpose.
