Lately, I have found myself obsessing over personal development — a habit I am choosing to adopt each and every day. With that, I have ventured down the rabbit holes of advice and though simple, each offers a unique impact to life and an opportunity to show up better tomorrow than we might have today.

Below are 30 pieces of advice that have resonated in this chapter of my life. I hope you find empowerment in each as well:

  1. Aristotle first advised, “Know thyself,” because when you know who you are, you can be wise when it comes to other aspects of your life, including your goals, dreams, and standards. Take time to know yourself.
  2. A business leader encouraged listeners to, “Show up fully and in the present moment, not while dwelling on the past and not while daydreaming about the future.”

3. A grandmother told her recently single and heartbroken granddaughter, “You cannot be lonely if you like the person you’re alone with.”

4. After seeing an argument between two female students, a high school A.P. Psychology teacher told one of them, “Learn to see someone’s behavior through the lens of love. If they’re acting out, that probably means they’re in desperate need of a love tank fill-up.”
