I used to cringe at sentences that included the phrase ‘productivity hack’ because to me, it felt like as much of a gimmick as ‘crash diets’ or ‘weight loss pills.’ I met each with defensiveness because ‘there’s no way it could be that easy,’ much like the rest of the world sees these ‘get results fast’ type slogans.

This; however, is both honest and result driving. Each minute encourages an action that will help boost your productivity and energy, while either achieving or maintaining focus. So without further ado, here is your five-minute productivity hack, broken down into minutes:

Minute 1: Stand up and stretch. Get up from your desk, or wherever you are sitting, and stretch. Do something that involves moving your body, whether it be taking a stroll around the office or standing tall with your arms above your head. Remain active for 60 seconds. Studies have shown that even a short bit of exercise every day makes us happier, more alert, and more emotionally intelligent.
